The Sauvie Island Fire Department needs YOU!
Belonging to an extended family of fire fighters offers social rewards not found anywhere else in our country. The men and women who make up the Sauvie Island Fire Department (SIFD) share a common interest; the desire to help others in need. Annually we respond to more than 100 fire and medical emergencies and help prevent many more.
Each volunteer attends weekly state certified fire and medical training conducted by SIFD. Trainings are held at the fire station every Wednesday at 7:00pm. Training is provided at no cost to volunteers. Becoming a volunteer helps you to serve your community while becoming a better business owner, employee, and neighbor.
After certification, volunteers are provided with protective clothing and equipment by SIFD. Volunteers are insured during duty calls through the department. Other rewards such as financial training incentives and educational benefits are available to all volunteers.
Sauvie Island Firefighters provide the community with the benefits of full service fire protection. Because of the growing need for firefighters in our district and the growing demands for performance, your community needs your help now. Do you have the desire to help your community?
