Barn Catches Fire Near Pumpkin Patch
A barn caught fire on Sauvie Island Sunday, October 11th, during a busy weekend for families to visit the area for pumpkin patch festivities. No one was injured but it certainly created quite a stir. The fire started just before 11 a.m., inside a converted barn. The barn was not on one of the farms that are a tourist attraction to visitors this time of year. However, it was close enough for everyone to get a good view of the flames. It was located in the 16500 block of NW

1st Graders Get Fire Dept. Tour
We love having guest to the station but yesterday was very special for the volunteers at Sauvie Island as we got to host the Sauvie Elementary 1st graders. Kids had an opportunity to check out the fire trucks, the station, and meet real life firefighters! Our volunteers gave the kinds some fire prevention information and we all had a great time.
